The great pica search did not go well, having only spotted one such critter that was nearly close enough to photograph. However, there were teens of Yellow-bellied Marmots working the hillside in search of food and who knows what else.
As we were getting ready to give it up and move on, John spotted this immature marmot who was just too cute to pass up. I was so close to it I had to back off on the telephoto some in order to get its entire body in the frame. This image is a crop highlighting the face and whiskers.
